About Us

Karina Krondal:
I grew up surrounded by dogs, my parents got their first Rottweiler when I was 2 years old and the dogs have always been a very big part of our family. I have followed my mother’s breeding of first Rottweilers and later on Cavalier King Charles Spaniels with great enthusiasm for years, but wanted to wait until the time was right before I got my own dog. I did not want to keep a dog in an apartment but wanted to wait until I had a house with a garden for them to run in. Also I knew that I wanted a larger breed than the Cavalier and a less dominant breed than the Rottweiler, and after having ploughed through several books on dog breeds and experiencing the Dogue de Bordeaux in real life, I completely lost my heart to this breed. I then spend months and months studying kennels and bloodlines on the internet and decided that my first dog was to come from Kennel Brandoux in the UK - 6 months later I picked up Medusa in England…;o) I am quite ambitious about my breeding – I am not just producing puppies for the sake of producing puppies but want to contribute to the breed with healthy, mentally well-functioning, breed typical dogs. It took a year from choosing the breed to actually getting a dog(!), but Medusa was thoroughly picked out for her bloodlines, firstly because I found that the hips in these bloodlines were very good, secondly because there were no dogs in other Danish kennels out of these lines at the time. I am therefore hoping to bring some new blood, strong on hips and elbows, into the Danish population of DdB’s.

As for work, I have a background as an accountant with Ernst&Young with a bachelor’s degree in Economics (HD Regnskab), today I am Head of Finance at Dress Partner, which is a men’s wear company with approximately 140 member shops, among these the well-known chain “DIN TØJMAND”.

Peter Bihlet:
I got my first dog, a doberman, when I was 18 years old, and have had dogs ever since. I started out with working dogs - doberman and german shepherd - and spent a lot of time training my dogs for different trials (:prøver). I also functioned as a human adversary (:figurant) at the time and most weekends were spent on the training field, either training my own dogs or running as adversary for others. In 1997 I got my first Amstaff, Perdues Hunka Blue Bull aka Macho, imported from USA. As Macho was a very promising puppy, I promised the breeder to show him, although I had never been interested in dogshows. I went to the show with no expectations of actually enjoying it, but mainly just to see what it was. Macho was entered in puppy-class at a DKK show and ended up as Best in Show Baby 2! The succesful start in the showring immediately got me interested and I went on showing Macho both in Denmark and abroad with great success. He ended up as multi-champion and 2nd most winning terrier in Denmark in 1999. Along with the interest for showing I also developed an interest for breeding and I bred my first Amstaff litter in 1998.

In 2000 I was showing Macho at the World Winner show in Milan, and at the show I saw a Basenji in the main ring. I immediately fell for the show quality of this breed and later that year I became the happy owner of Skyewalker's Storm of Whitney. Whitney has been all I could ever dream of in a show dog and has had an amazing show career. Among her achievements are Best In Show at the international DKK show in Ballerup 2002, BOB Europe Winner Paris 2002, BOB World Winner Dortmund 2003 and BOB Crufts England 2003. I no longer breed or show basenjis, but still have Whitney and 3 of her offspring.

I have previously bred Amstaff and Basenji under the kennel names "PB's Amstaff" and "From PB's". My big passion for showing dogs has also let me to be a showring instructor with the Danish Kennel Club at their show courses in Hørsholm. At the moment however, I am not active as show instructor.
As for work I have my own company as a blacksmith, shoing horses.
